Communication and Interaction (Inc. Autism)

Introduction

At Guston, we recognise the importance of effective communication in enabling learning, wellbeing and inclusion. Pupils may have a range of communication and interaction needs, including difficulties with speech, language and social communication, or the understanding of non-verbal cues. These differences present in a variety of ways, meaning that some pupils may find it challenging to express their thoughts, follow instructions, engage in conversation, or build and maintain relationships. Autistic pupils have differences with their communication and interaction profile.
